What to do with your electronic discards

Electronic waste, or “e-waste”, is one of the fastest growing components of our waste stream. E-Waste refers to any unwanted product that uses electricity to operate such as computers, televisions, VCRs, stereos, copiers, cell phones, fax machines, and other common electronic products.

Rapid advances in technology, and growing demand for new features result in millions of electronic products becoming unwanted by California consumers every year.

E-Waste that is in working condition or repairable can be donated or sold for reuse. In addition, many components of electronic products, such as metals and plastics, can be recycled using special processes.
