Burrowing Owl Habitat
The city of Antioch as a part of the Prewett park community facilities project is developing a habitat area for some local feathered residents on the site . As a part of our environmental impact mitigation for the new community center being built at Prewett park . We have developed 24 acres of preserved habitat for Burrowing Owls .This area will be preserved and maintained in perpetuity to protect these owls.
The site will eventually include viewing areas and informational signage on these special creatures. We are asking that all of the residents within the community respect this area so we can protect this wonderful natural resource. This area will be fenced and signed as a environmentally sensitive area anyone entering the area may be cited.
