06-8611 8/26/06: Homicide. Victim: Jeremy Quiming
3421 Hudson Ct Antioch
A 19 year old male was shot to death just after midnight after a verbal altercation outside of the Hudson Court Apartments in Antioch. A suspect was arrested in this case a few months after the murder but the DA did not file charges. The suspect was described as a tall slender black male in his late teens or early 20’s.
06-9576 9/22/06: Homicide. Victim: Jerry Allen
2200 Sycamore Dr #114
Allen, a 37 year old male was shot to death at approx 2317 hrs as he was arriving at a friend’s apartment. This apartment is in the 2200 Sycamore apartment complex.
06-5247 5/25/06 Homicide. Victims: Mary Lavall and Jovan Morris.
2208 Spanos St Antioch
Morris was assisting Lavall unloading groceries when both were shot in front of Lavalls home on Spanos St in Antioch. This murder occurred at 1830 hours when it was still daylight. Although many citizens were at the scene and most likely witnessed this homicide, few have come forward with information. The suspect is described as a tall thin black male with dreadlocked hair.
07-458 1/14/07 Homicide. Victim: Jose Sanchez
4501 Country Hills Dr. Antioch
Sanchez was a guest at a party on Country Hills Drive in Antioch. At a little after midnight a disturbance broke out among two groups of the party goers. The disturbance went out to the street and shots were fired. Sanchez was struck in the leg with a bullet and died.
07-2819 3/16/07 Homicide. Victim: Louis Straiten III
4200 Lone Tree Way Antioch
Straiten was in the Deer Valley Plaza Shopping Center and Regal Theater area in Antioch at about 2215 hrs when he was shot and killed. Earlier in the evening Straiten had been involved in at least 1 physical altercation with another male. The suspect in the shooting was described as a black male 18-22 years old with a medium build. Several dozen people were in the immediate area of the shooting yet information has been scarce and vague.
07-5160 4/20/07 Homicide. Victim: Vincent Soto
4504 Belle Dr Antioch
Soto was sitting in his car parked in front of the home of his parents on Belle Dr in Antioch. His vehicle was approached by 1 or 2 subjects who shot and killed him. No suspects have been identified.
06-7361 Sabrina Koeppel homicide
7/23/06 at 1213 Poppy Way
On 7/23/06 Sabrina Koeppell, age 22, was shot and killed in a drive by shooting in front of 1213 Poppy Way in Antioch. Sabrina was a mother to an infant child and wife to her high school sweetheart. She taught cheerleading at the Cornerstone Christian School in Antioch and she was well liked by her students and everyone who knew her.
To date there have been very few leads in the case and the motive is still unknown, although Sabrina appears to have been caught in the line of fire and was an innocent victim. The vehicle the shots were fired from was described as a large four door American sedan such as a Cadillac or Lincoln, black or dark in color with faded paint on the roof and truck areas.
07-5052 Carl Henderson homicide
5/12/07 at 7-11 Store 1101 E. 18th St.
On 5/17/07 at approximately 0020hrs APD patrol officers responded to a report of a shooting in the parking lot of the 7-11 Store located at 1101 E. 18th St in Antioch. Two victims were found at the scene suffering from gunshot wounds. One of the victims, 23 year old Carl Henderson, was shot in the head and torso and was pronounced dead at the scene. His friend was shot in the head and survived. The incident appears to possibly be a robbery/attempt carjacking committed by three unidentified black male adults, one of which fired the shots from a semi-auto pistol as indicated by shell casings found at the scene. There has been no weapon recovered.
The shooter was described as a black male adult, 6’5”, medium build with short afro style hair and no facial hair. The second responsible was black male adult, 5’11”, thin build with afro style hair. The third responsible was a black male, 5’10”, “husky” build with long bushy hair down to his shoulders.
The getaway vehicle was described as a mint, lime or light green non-metallic colored mid 90’s Chevrolet Lumina or Oldsmobile Delta 88 with 20-22” wheels. Witnesses reported the vehicle did not appear to have a rear license plate attached.
07-10303 Jose Sanchez homicide
10/11/07 at 2200 Sycamore Dr
On 10/11/07 at approximately 5:50pm Jose Sanchez was found lying in the bicycle lane on the North side of Sycamore Dr in front of the apartments located at 2200 Sycamore Dr. Sanchez was suffering from a head injury and was transported to the hospital for treatment but he died on 10/18/07. Sanchez was a resident in the Sycamore Dr area.
Commuters who had been passing by stopped when they saw a suspect going through Sanchez’ pockets. When confronted by witnesses, the suspect ran away into the apartments. Antioch PD Patrol Officers spotted the suspect walking in the 2400 block of Sycamore Dr later in the evening. The suspect was arrested and is being held on a parole violation. A witness to the actual physical assault of Sanchez needs to be found in order to pursue homicide charges against the suspect. |
