To create a vibrant community for Antioch citizens and entrepreneurs, the Economic Development Department (EDD) is firmly devoted to the City’s goal of attracting, retaining, and promoting expansion of local business opportunities.
To aid the City of Antioch in maintaining a robust business environment, the EDD provides staff support to the Economic Development Commission (EDC), and also partners with the Antioch Chamber of Commerce, the Contra Costa Council, and various other regional business organizations to position Antioch as a premier city in which to conduct business, both for the consumers and the business owners who serve them.
To achieve this goal, the EDD employs a multi-pronged approach focused primarily on the areas of retail attraction, downtown revitalization, business retention, and job development.
