Engineering and Development Services Division is a division of the Community Development Department responsible for review and approval of public improvements for new residential, commercial and industrial development as well as the inspection of those improvements.  Information is also provided to the public for flood plains in Antioch and the division has primary responsibility for the management of the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit.  Solid Waste Disposal, AB 939 Solid Waste Reduction Program, Landscaping and Lighting District Engineer’s Report preparation, and Traffic/Transportation are also managed by Engineering and Development Services.

  • 24 hr. notice minimum for inspections (925) 779-6124 (Pre-inspection/inspection/post-inspection for final)
  • (8:00AM- Midnight) for following day inspection.

The economic crisis and its negative impact on the City’s budget have resulted in reduced staffing levels. We are committed to providing you the best customer service possible and have made some changes to our schedule.

Starting August 31, 2009
Full service counter hours are:
8:00a.m. to 11:30a.m.

During this time all services are available to customers and a Building Inspector, Planner, Engineer, or Code Enforcement Officer will be available to assist you.

We are closed for lunch from 12:00p.m. to 1:00p.m.

Staff is available to assist customers by appointment only between the hours of 1:00p.m. to 5:00p.m. City Hall is closed every Friday.
